3/6/2009, Columbiana, OH - Rock crawling team #311 Team 4Wheel Drive Hardware is pleased to announce for the 2009 season we will be crawling to cure cancer.
The team has been competing in the professional rock crawling series called WeRock since 2005. We travel the mid-west and east coast attending rock crawling competitions and Jeep Shows. Kelly Young has been the only female driver in the stock modified class and the Jeep was bright green, both factors into the attention we draw at these events. In June of 2008, Kelly lost her mother to a brief battle with colon and liver cancer. Her mom was one of our biggest fans and a big fan to the world of rock crawling and motorsports. The team had been thinking of ways to hold an off road event or something in Kelly's mom’s memory, when the idea was presented to us to paint the competition jeep pink and raise money for cancer research. And thus, Crawl to Cure Cancer was born.

Donald Broadbent is a JK owner and Off-Road Enthusiast. This year he has decided to step up his game a little bit and try Class 1 Competition in RC Rocks at Rausch Creek Off-Road Park. He went to the experts at Rock Krawler Suspension to help him with his build and make sure his JK is up to snuff for the rigors of competition. First, a little background: Don’s JK is a 2007 model with a 3.8 Liter V6, 6-speed manual transmission, 2-speed transfer case, Dana 30 front axle and Dana 44 rear axle. Class 1 rules specify the suspension components must use the factory mounting points and factory concept, but may be beefed-up to handle the abuse of competition. This means no long arm systems and no suspension conversions. However, creativity will prove the wiser. Follow along and find out how. |

W.E. Rock All Stock Nationals!by: W.E. Rock Staff
W.E.ROCK's All Stock Nationals presented by Cooper Tires is fast approaching as the 2008 rockcrawling season nears an end. This last weekend, 6 of the 24 qualification spots were officially locked up as the final W.E.ROCK Western and Eastern National series came to a close.
Above All Rockcrawling's Tim Florian and Jon Moulden took the top Pro West qualification spot after winning 3 out of the 4 season events. "We set one goal at the beginning of the season and that was to be consistent and smart about our season. The All Stock Nationals is such an important event that we didn't want a simple mistake keeping us out of it. Our strategy paid off, not only in a qualification, but also a big season win for our team."
Quadratech's Kurt Shramovich and Chris Walton took the Pro East Qualification spot after winning 4 straight series events. A task that was only accomplished by two previous teams over the last 8 years. "It was great to win 4 in a row and go down in history. West and Haines were the only guys to do it before, I sure would like to go after West as he is last seasons top Modified Stock Driver"
The All Stock Nationals presented by Cooper Tires will be the first event of its kind. Combining the regional W.E.ROCK sanctioned events with the W.E.ROCK Pro National Series events, the top Stock Modified teams will be selected from both arenas and come together in a "Pros vs Joes" national championship final.

What are the most important upgrades to a trail rig? The lift kit or maybe the tires? Others might say that it is the lockers or perhaps a winch. As upgrades are made and money is spent things tend to be done in stages rather than all at once. One area that seems to get over looked; or perhaps the last area to finally get a portion of the budget appropriated to it is safety items. Sure it isn’t tough to throw a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher into the rig but what about the bigger ticket items? People always consider the roll cage and what it will take to either replace or add to the factory bar in order to help the occupants survive a roll over but what about the seats? |

Why does it seem like the stock interior lighting in most vehicles is dim and generally inadequate. If you have ever had to look at a map at night with just the stock dome light in your Wrangler then you know how hard on the eyes that can be. Roundeyes Performance Lighting Specialists out of Placerville, California decided it was time to offer a solution. After doing some research they were able to find a supplier for some high quality LED replacement lights. |
