I lucked out on the first crack the windshield shop fixed it, not so lucky with the 2nd rock from a darn gravel truck, need to replace the windshield.
Is there any effective way to prevent this? Thanks Mark ------------------ 2002 TJ sport, stock, D44, 30in. wheel package

Don't follow gravel trucks.
![]() Other than that there is nothing you can do they are just prone to cracks and chips. I just hope mine hold out for the winter. Right now I have a crack from the top to the bottom and two rock chips. Scott [This message has been edited by Brenner (edited 10-30-2001).]

I know I try to stay away from them, but this a$$hole was dumping rocks from the bottom spreader every time he hit a bump, of course I did not know that until I past him and got his plate# and truck# and flipped him off. My insurance is gonna try to file a claim against them but they say they won't pay. I have to pay a $100 detuctable, oh well.

I know I'm going to get an earfull...but I had 5 stars on my last windshield in 2 years. I had it replaced, and decided to try an experiment with one of those BugFlectors. I got the GTS version with the little up-swoop. I've had it since March. NO CHIPS, STARS, or SCRATCHES!
![]() I drive the same roads the same way as I did when I got the 5 stars. The numbers say I should have at least 2 by now. I think this thing works. IMHO

I just live with it. I've got about 3 stone chips, and a 10" spider crack on the passenger side. It passed inspection. I know if I replace it I'll just crack the new one...

It's the one thing about having a flat windshield that totally sucks.
I got a rock chip the first day I got the new Jeep, :-( James 98 TJ www.diggydoja.com [This message has been edited by jeepnig (edited 10-31-2001).] |
