Question Are half doors worth the $$ ??

When I have my hardtop off really dont like the full doors.. Are the 1/2 hard doors worth it? Do I have to drill new holes for the striker? Or should I get soft doors?? Or no doors at all any feedback would be appreciated.. Thanks Chuck

Ive had full hard doors, full soft doors & 1/2 doors. Without a doubt the 1/2 doors are the best IMHO.

I prefer the soft doors.

So easy to just take off and throw in the back. No worries about scratching them.

And I have had both.

Hey Chuck,

I've been weighing the same options. I have full doors on my TJ and I love them for times when I have the top up. I had half doors on my YJ and liked them much better if your going to run with the doors on and top down. But riding around with the doors off rules.

With that in mind, I'm thinking about going with full soft doors as Cutch suggests. Especially considering I do like my side rear view mirror and the soft doors will allow me to install a mirrror and leave it for the summer and just toss the doors in the back if I want to.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Jeff

Oh, by the way, if you do decide to go with half doors, keep an eye on Ebay. I've seen a couple of sets of stock doors now go for about half what you can buy the after market doors for. If you're lucky, you'll see a pair that match your paint scheme and you won't even have to paint.
