I Will be making myself two sets of Lower Control Arms
And I need some help. One of My jeeps is a 2001 XJ 4x4 with no lift. The other is the same but 98. 1) What is the center of holes ? Is it 15 3/4 ? 2) What size of DOM to use at the bushings. I'll thinking of using this bushing front and rear http://www.quadratec.com/products/16158_504.htm And what size to use for the upper CA's www.BlueXJ.com |

Why are you making control arms for a jeep with no lift. Quadratec makes stock arms with bushings for something like 20 bucks each.. I would have to be VERY good at welding if I was to make a primary suspension component and want it to be safe...not that it can't be done but for a stock sized arm it seems like a lot of work for no reason...From a Jeep site ..lunghd.com his chart showes lower stock arms at 15 3/4 and uppers at 15

Very good Question
My 2001 XJ's LCA needs to be replaced soon and it will be getting a 3" lift latter. So this LCA's are going to be make adjustable. But as for my 1998, It was in a accidents and the brackets on the axle tube have been rebuild. So it to need adjustable arms too. I'm sure making 2 sets of LCA myself is going to cost less. And as I'm at it might as will replace the upper too. I allready half way there. Do it all now and it is all done with

Sadly, I don't have the know how to determine what size tubing you would need to make it strong enough. for the price of the quadratec's..buy them for now and worry about it later when you need the adjustables and can find the specs tomake then right
