Default CRD engine cover rattle

I noticed, while I was checking under the hood while engine running and I notice a really bad rattle on the black plastic engine cover, in the front-end passenger side area.

Pushing or pulling with my hand on the cover will stop the rattle and I means, I don't think we feel the rattle inside but it's annoying to know.

An extra bolt would be required (2 from factory) to get rid of it, or removing the cover too of course.

Anyboy has a DIY way to fix it?

I noticed on my engine cover that one of the black rubber vibration isolators (that's what I call them) were missing. These are located on the two tabs where the engine cover connects back near the firewall. If these are missing, then it could cause a cover vibration. I think mine dissappeared when taking the cover off and not noticing that one of the rubbers pieces came off.

Fred beat me to it.. i'm sure the isolator is missing. You could go to the dealer to get one or just swing by home depot and find a rubber gromet to match the OEM piece and use that... the latter being MUCH CHEAPER i'm sure.

ok Canada May or may not have a Home Depot. i just noticed the location... so go to a local hardware store to find a replacement , if the rubber piece is missing.

Hum... I'll check that but the engine cover rattle in the front area (near dipstick) not near the firewall.

Look at the attachment from a CRD pic I found on the net, I circled in red the area where is the rattle and where if I put my hand it will stop.

I'm under the impression it's a design flaw, not anything missing!
