It has since run 10.8 at 130... While it probably costs $60,000 and Hennessey is known in the car world as a liar and a thief, it's still impressive. Fastest SRT8 out there at the moment.

Think about it....

It only cuts a 1.8 60' time. According to Hennessey this is because they wanted it to be streetable. They could be cutting 1.5s with the right cam and torque converter.

The first vid... you can hear it popping...
and yeah it does seem slow to me on both vids, From watching pinks last night it just doesn't impress me as much.

Guess if I were the driver, it would be a different story.

My car is streetable and does 1.4

My car is n/a and makes 800hp add another 800 for the button....

If tomorrow i decided to bolt on the SC and a different carb i'll make 1200hp without the other 800 on the button....

The SC isn't going to cost me 60k, and i'll be makin an easy 1200hp if not more...

That would still be streetable as it is now, total price after that would still be lower then 60k...about the same weight as the SRT

Why is the $ argument dumb....

HP and speed is relative to COST....

COST ..... 60k to get 4200lbs to 10.88 is sad....

Even worse when it is done FA, and everyone knows FA is easier....

To say bucket oh ****... the only bucket i see is being touted at 10.88

I have no idea what the cost is. I just threw 60k out there knowing that Hennessey project are usually grossly overpriced.

That belch of white smoke at the end didn't look too good. That being said it traps good probably could use some stickier rubber. There is a ****load of hemi stuff hitting the Market so it won't be long before someone gets one done right.

From what I have been reading on the srt8 sites, their biggest problem seems to be with the tcm. It seems to bog down whenever they get over a certain power level. I dont think that henessy jeep was for a customer. All the guys over at cherokeesrt8 seem to be loving them now.

The claim of 9's using a fixed hemi is not something i wouldn't believe....

With the 5.7 head and some porting...SOME porting, not extensive porting, but some you'll be happy to know it will effectively move enough air and gas to support well over 800hp...

The block on the 5.7 on the other hand will not...

The 6.1 block supposedly will handle 800hp...

However the problem is the computer... If we can take a 500+ hp motor in a 3500 lb car and go mid 10's...albeit it's got 1 rear, 1 trans, and 500 lbs lighter...We have cars that are a little heavier, a little lighter and on dead gears going faster......Someone gotta explain to me why supposedly people have 800hp fixed hemis and can't break into the 9's.... it's all in the math, and someone is lying to someone or someones computer is lying to the motor and seriously ****in them..
600hp at 4100lbs should be high to mid 10's all day long...if not you aren't making the numbers...or something is seriously wrong...
This is why the TRACK is the BEST DYNO

I agree that plume of white smoke wasn't good
