Default 1Z Einszett Klima-Cleaner, finally did it.

So I was reading European Car Mag about a year ago and noticed this new product in the new product section. Klima Cleaner, eliminates odors in the car. I figured why not, the wife is always bitching how the VW smelled, plus the "gotta have it now" was the fact that the picture on the bottle mirrored my Audi interior. So I bought it. Never ended up using it on the Dub, well the box resurfaced this past weekend and I said, "hey, I'll use it on the WJ"

Heck the WJ is pushing 10 years old, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. As many of you know, I was complaining about the pollen this year, I'm deathly alergic to pollen, so I installed the dust & pollen filter on the WJ and it helped in a great way.

Well, now!!!!, after the Klima treatment, I almost died the first day after the treatment due to the chemical smell; however, that only lasted a day. NOW, my WJ never smelled so "fresh and so clean"

Totally worth doing, Thank you 1Z.

So for those of you that just have that, "you know what smell in your WJ" I recommend this stuff.

I did a quick google search and here is the first link.

Was this easy to do Tone? Did you just stuff the hose into the fresh air intake by the cowl and fire away?

BHR, smells like a fresh chemical smell for the first day, then after that really nothing.

Glenn, you got it, insert tube in the center vent (have the climate control on the center vent to open the thing) and spray away. After about a minute after the can is empty you can hear the stuff working away.

Reaper, Definately!!!

In short, I'm glad I did it. I'm certain that the stuff killed all the bacteria in the evap core.

You can buy similar stuff aty auto parts stores that carry A/C stuff. I have been doing that for the last 10yrs and some of them work better than others.

Interesting...so you did it from the inside of the Jeep?

I got something similar at Carquest. I believe they just call it "Air Conditioner Odor Eliminator". It's kind of a wierd glycol-ized foam that has a pleasant though somewhat artificial smell to it. Spray the whole can into the HVAC unit either thru the interior "recirculated air" inlet, or less preferably, the outside air inlet by the cowl. It kills the bacteria in the A/C evaporator and makes the interior smell fresh and clean. So far, I haven't had to do anything with the WJ, and I do have a cabin air filter installed now, so that should keep most bacteria growth to a minimum.

Reading this, I had a Grumpy Old Men flashback...When he tossed the fish into the back of the Travelall. "Hey Chuck...Do I stink?"

Yes, just stick the hose down the center vents, (Make sure the control is on the vent thought, dah!, car off) and spay away, you might have to switch fingers half way though. I did. Ha Ha...

Like the movie flashback, NICE,

In the end for the 20 bux or what ever it is, it can't hurt. Especially since the alergins were so bad here in the NE this year. I figure I better try to kill as much bacteria as possible. My WJ is going to hit her 10th birthday soon...Thought I would give her some fresh breath... Ha LOL
