Icon316 96 ZJ Amp wire

I'm trying to find a place to put a 4 gauge wire through the firewall. Any help would be appreciated.

Heh have fun with that! I ran a few wires into my cab through a groumet on the driver side. I think it was the hood release but im not to sure. Youll see it if you look. It took me about 2 hours just to get 4 22 gauge wires into my cab. An easier way would probably be to run the wire under the jeep and drill a hole in the floor.

Those gromets are made from depleted uranium rubber and its a proven fact that they are the hardest known rubber in the world.

Good luck

Your best bet? Drill thru the firewall. There's a spot you can do this VERY carefully. As you're looking at the brake booster from the front of the vehicle, just to the left of it, near the pinch weld.

I ran four gauge amp wire into my cab through the fender. I didn't want to drill any holes into the firewall, so if you look though the passenger side hood mount you can feed it through there into some trim on the outside of the of the kick panels... Put the amp under the rear seat where the jack and stuff goes and just ran it under the carpet as close as possible to the kick panel.. Can't even tell its there. If you really look into the crack of the door hinges you can see it, but you'd have to be looking

That would work if you don't want to run anything through the firewall.. I think my amp wire is 6 gauge and I ran some 12 gauge through in another hole, for the switch to my Hellas. I was lazy - no grommets - just threaded it through and used some black silicone caulk to fill in around the wires.

Ran an 8 gauge through a groomet on the driver's side. It's all the way to the bottom left. Not 100% sure, but if I remember correctly from a few years ago, there's room for a 4 gauge. Amp is on passenger side under rear seat. Never had heating issues, but it's only a 200watt rms and I never crank it loud.

That's the only reason I didn't put mine under the seat - it's mounted right to my homemade box. Plus, that way, I can pull the fuse on the power wire and take the whole thing out in one shot.

There's a good spot next to an existing grommet to drill a hole. You can pretty much tell by the picture where it is.

I thought about doing that, but am glad I didn't. Some ahole broke a back passenger window, and without opening the door, took my 12 inch sub and box from cargo area. Alarm never went off.
I know, it wasn't drilled in. Now I just wedged the slim box between the seat and spare.
