Default 4WD shift linkage

Hi, I've never messed with a 4x4 vehicle before. I'm looking at buying a 92 Cherokee. The guy selling it says that the previous owner removed a rod in the 4wd shift linkage so that his daughter wouldn't use the 4wd. Is this easy to fix? The guy selling says that he thinks that it is just two bolts. If it's easy I'll probably buy it.

Thanks,
Preston

Oh, and from what I've seen, this is a great site. When I buy an XJ I will definetly be posting here.

I went and looked at it and what you say is right. There are 2 little nubs on the ends of it. One had a rubber bushing on it, the other didn't. I din't go under the Jeep and look at the holes, but I guess it would just pop back in.

ya, all that junk just snaps in. go to a junk yard and snag whatever you need, that rubber bushings kinda suck to get out, bring a few flat head screwdrivers and some channel locks.
