Went to start the XJ and nothing, full power to everything just wont crank or turn over.Does this sound like a starter issue? The starter had been loose as a result of a lost bolt but was tightened down and has worked great for the last 3 days but now nothing. I can hear the fuel pump so I dont think thats it. This is my DD so any help would be great

start with the simple things first. Take your battery terminals off and scrape the crud off the insides. then scrape the crud off your battery terminals.

Whack the starter with a rubber mallet. Solenoid might be stuck.

had the same problem a while back. full power to everything but no start or even an attempted turn over. try shifting into neutral and then try to crank. some on else on here had the same syptoms a week or so back and i think it was finally blamed on a short in the shifter. mine did it like five times and then no more.

Been there, done that. If it starts after a good wack, go get a new starter.

If its not the starter check the wire running from the starter as I had the same issue only to find that the wire was severly corroded causing it not to get the proper amount of juice to do anything.

x3. Have a parts store test it out if that "starter whack method" doesnt work for you, also ensure you connected the cables back up properly?
