Well i went to pep boys today to look at some tires.
Found some Definity Dakota MT's for Buy 3 get the 4th free at 99.99 a peice. 31x10.5 Mud Terrain. These any good, they're getting them tothere location in the next two hours because they sold out of them yesterday so they went to antoher store to get them. 40,000 Miles... But we're having them mounted balanced and aligned elsewhere for 40.00 (for all 4) Now i know i'm going to need a lift for these so i want 3'' for under 650 installed is what i'm trying to find. Anyone running these tires? Whats good and whats bad about them? Thanks for advice... |

You get what you pay for. Pep Boys tires are good for one thing...passing inspection so you can easily sell the vehicle.

Well i'm on a tight budget... if they last me three years i'll be happy.
When my parents put tires on my sisters car last year they spend 228$ for 4 tires on her saturn. They were well aware that it would cost more for mine but hwen they saw how much more they quickly changed their minds until i showed them the pepboys deal buy 3 get 4th free. My dad has the futura adventurers on his Van... they are holding up well. DOn't forget i don't plan on rock crawling with these just more of the sand and water hazard stuff. And i love the aggressive look of these tires. |

I have 31" Futura MT's on my F150. They have been great tires for me. They are noisy though. I have right around 40,000 miles on them and they have about 15% tread left. Time for some more.

3" for under 650 installed = ZJ coils and a spacer plus S10 leaves put in by you in your driveway. dont forget you'll need an alignment (70 bucks)

IIRC, doesnt someone in your family have a garage full of tools? ive had rustys 3" lift with spring packs for the past 6 years and have zero complaints. for my needs, its been worth every penny. i did add an adj. track bar and RE adj. lca's to the kit. |

Dude... install the lift yourself. You'll appreciate your jeep much, much more than you do now. Also, it's not that difficult to install.
It'll take 6 - 8 hrs MAX.

if its your first time doing a lift and live in the north where the salt and weather has rusted every single nut and bolt, it will take alot more time than 6-8 hours. ive been working on cars for 20 years and it took me a solid weekend to do my first lift. the second and third time it took half the amount of time each time. the first time you over think everything and learn the hard way how to get a rusted broken bolt out.
