I want to replace my front drive shaft with the cv joint, 96 ZJ unlimited V8, with one that doesn't have the cv joint. I bought a front drive shaft off a 98 zj with the v6 and a U-joint instead of the CV and its a couple inches longer so it won't fit. Did they give me the wrong shaft? Why would the one off the 98 v6 be longer? If it is longer is there another stock shaft that would fit so that I don't have to get one custom fit?

did you get a new yoke for the front axle? you need that..
if it is still too long a shop can cut down the driveshaft for probably under $100

Yup got the new yoke, its 2+ inches to long. I was hoping to stick with a stock part it makes finding a replacement easier. But I guess if I wanted stock I wouldn't be wanting to swap the CV out for a U-joint so I'll be getting it cut down. :shadey:
