Looking to buy '99 JGC LTD 4.7 V8

If I buy, it will be my first Jeep... what issues/problems are common with this model that I must be aware of beforehand or have checked out by a mechanic first considering that this was a first year model in the last generation Grand Cherokee run

Or would it be better to buy a 1998 5.9 limited?

The original rotors and calipers are a weak point. Check if these have been replaced.

Due to misalignment of the caliper the rotors tended to get warped.

Do a search on this topic: I know for sure that several threads dealt with your question.
