That sounds like A LOT of money. What all are they doing?

I remember reading somewhere that it is best to replace all as a set.

Pull the fuel pump relay and crank it for a while to depressureize the fuel rail. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail (you can buy the disconnect tools at any auto parts store), disconnect the injector electrical connections and remove the rail. There's a clip holding the injectors to the rail, just pop it off and pull the bad injector out. Put the new one in and assemble. That's rough but you get the general idea.

I'm not sure about most people replacing them as a set. Usually when injectors need service you'd do all the o-rings at that time. (You can buy injector o-ring sets at autozone, etc)

Just be careful not to tear any orings putting it back in. Try dipping the ends with the rings in some gas before you push it into the rail and intake.

Thanks for the replies.......total was 646.40.

The Jeep would only run on 5 cyl. When it got hot, injector 2 crapped out. If I let the engine cool down for a couple hours it would run fine ....but then crap out again when it got hot. Tried to get them to perform the TSB that XJ's have but it only applies to injector 3.

I thought it was probably a short of some sort that got aggravated when it was really hot..(don't know why)

The fuel pressure was good, plug looked fine and the voltage to the injector was fine. ....was throwing code P0202 and P0203

It took the dealership 3 days (so they say) to figure out that it was the injector itself. They said they wanted to explore every other avenue before replacing the injector because it was going to be expensive.....I guess they got me for the 3 days worth of labor as well. I'll find out once I see the bill......picking her up tonight.

there is another post on here about the problem somewhere that I started.....just search my username SilverWJ-RI
