Default Help-Verify Trailing Arm Bushing Installation

How should these bushings be installed?????

Aloha - I have had alignment problems from day 1 - Goes left on acceleration and right on decelleration, and generally pulls to the right. Aligned rotated 4 times by four differnt alignment shops - Had frame checked by body shop and is straight. I have a lot of play in the rear, wheel hop etc.

Drawing of Bushing installed from factory on my 2004

Should the air gaps be installed up and down or front to back??

Pics of Napa replacement bushings - Looks same as factory

Thanks in Advanced

Default Re: Help-Verify Trailing Arm Bushing Installation

LOWER CONTROL ARM
DESCRIPTION
The lower suspension arms are stamped steel and welded and use voided round bushings at the axle end and solid rubber at the body end of the arm.
After "handtight" installation, lower vehicle to the ground and tighten bolts to spec. This last bit must be done with the vehicle off the stand/lift etc., or the result will be premature wear to the bushings. No mention is made as to where the "voids" in the axle end bushings are to be positioned.

The slots in the one rubber bushing are primarily for small amplitude, high frequency vibration damping. Having the slots aligned properly, as shown in the hand sketch, will allow for this damping. Having the slots improperly aligned will result in more driving vibration felt in the cabin, a slightly harsher ride, and perhaps premature bushing wear.
