Icon315 Correct fuel tank hoses? Safety problem?

I am getting a small gasoline leak around my skid plate. I am going to drop the tank this weekend to check it out. I want to replace the hoses on top of the tank (3/8" lines). I went to napa to get the hose and told him the Jeep is fuel injected. The hose he gave me is made by Gates and says "not for fuel injection" on it. I questioned him about this and he said it will work fine and everyone uses it, it is the best hose he has. Has anyone replaced there fuel hoses? I do not want to do this job twice. Should I look for different hoses? I do not want the hoses to burst and cause a fire.

Both my brother and I own YJ's and we've both had to replace those same hoses. When I did mine I used regular vaccuum hose from AutoZone. It hasn't leaked in the last 2 years.

That doesn't mean that the hoses won't erode over time, just that pressure won't cause what you've got to burst. I fully expect mine to rot out some day, just like the last ones did, hopefully, it will take 12 more years, like the last ones did.

I recently replaced mine with bulk fuel injection hose from Advance. It's more expensive because it has to with stand pressure from the pressurized system.

I also estimated the sender line to be 3/8 while the return was 5/16. I say estimate because I used the sizer template they had in the store.

Also I used fuel injection clamps instead of regular.
