I had one, paid $500 for a XJ 44 with the Detroit and 4.10's installed. But in searching I've seen the Detroit alone for right around $500. So although my post doesn't help you, two of the 31 replies are mine so I threw in a response

Check with West Coast Differential - they had the best price I found when I was building my axles. Can't remember what I paid exactly, but I think it was around $440-$450.

As Dan said above....WCD or Randys probably are the 2 places to check. So I thought the Electra was quite the thing.....does it have issues?

I got my D60 Detroit for a tick under $500 (like ~$480).
I was pricing D44's at the time too, I think the range was anywhere from $460ish to $550+. I'd say the closer to $450, the better, but even $475-$480 would be better than some places. BTW, I think there was a price increase on this stuff a year, or two ago, since I had printed up a really good price list, but they weren't able to meet the price anymore.
