Was dead set on MOPAR MPI, expensive but I know its effectiveness and have run many 4.0L's with the same setup.
However, Clifford Performance has released what they claim is MPI they claim similar performance to MOPAR and it is programmable via a laptop so that it can be leaned out. And it is supposedly a different product than the Redline. I am tempted to dismiss it but figured I would ask. 1. Does anyone have it? 2. Has anyone seen it? Should I be dismissing it? http://cliffordperformanceshop.com/c...on_2869395.htm Though the fact that their spelling is worse than mine scares me!

Wow Deja-vu, I was just on that site thinking I wonder what the guys on JU would say about that. I'm considering the same thing, it seems to come with everything, I wonder how reliable the thing really is, and how it would work with their valve kit?

Actually it is their redline product, strange looking thing. Has only two injectors. I must admit for the cash, despite the fact that you get a nice header MOPAR is probably the better buy.
I should have dug a little deeper on the site.

Me either, other than it is a two injector system, which doesnt present much advantage (at least from my perspective) to a TBI system. It is my opinion it just isnt on the level with a true sequential MPI system, I was hoping given Clifford's reputation for creativity when they said MPI they meant MPI.

I really like the idea that it is programable, but for the price I would stick with the tried and true mopar kit.

Ya but last time I checked a GM Truck Throttlebody still had two injectors (designed differently) This is throttle body injection they are selling, sure they may have a neat looking double barreled throttlebody with one injector in each barrel. I think I will take an injector for each cylinder (sequential).
Guess as when I pay that softop on this months AMEX I will pony up for the Mopar Kit. Sure I can do it cheaper out of a junkyard but I want to be driving the 8 thing everyday in a month! By the way Marc how is the Scrambler coming? I am just about ready to put mine back on the road (Just have fuel injection and tires to deal with yet). A couple areas I am not particularly pleased with (around the rear wheel wells) but I can live with them.

Try these guys. I have looked up the part before and they seem to have the lowest prices arround on the MPI. You actually need to go to the catalog and get teh correct part number. But once there it seems like they have really good prices on stuff. Espically since Koller dodge was bought out and does not do the parts thing anymore. http://www.parts4mymopar.com/index.php3 Hope that this helps. Carl |
