Default pics of 3" lift and 33s

They fit really well actually I think I'm gonna put some TJ flares on and call it done, I actually could flex it pretty far before I hit, but it hits on the sides of the inner fenders in the back which means its soon time to get out Mr. Sawzall

93sahara- What width tires are those? Are those stock 15x7" rims?

They are stock 15x7 wheels, and they are 10.5 wide tires. They rub at full turn but a washer on each steering stop fixed that.

Looks great!!

I did a little shopping for you:
TJ Flares

Now if you would just give me your credit card number we could get started.....

I started with a sahara just like yours. Are you ready for the snowball effect? You can't install TJ flares with the factory running boards (guess anythings possible). Soo start shopping for some rocker gaurds that you like. Tip.. cut the fender openings for the flares prior to instaling the rockers, then hold the rockers in place and trace the front and rear to match the now different fender opening (you will have to modify the front and rear of the rocker gaurds). Also, everyone says "break out the Sawzall" (myself included) but in reality a jigsaw with a fine metal blade works much better.

I think you will find that you are going to need both the TJ flares and a 1"BL. If you agree with that, than I would recomend doing the BL first. Cheap, quick and easy (and your wife prob wont even notice..) and it will def help your clearance issues in back.

Good luck,

MP

The only reason I was gonna forgo the BL is that I've heard horror stories of broken, stripped and stuck bolts...how did yours go? I'd love to not do the TJ flares since I like my body colored flares, and I think I can get away with just a BL or the TJ flares for the wheeling I do, but we shall see...Thanks a ton

Matt

I live in SoCal near the beach (salty air), I've driven all over Baja with alot of time spent driving on beaches and occasional through ocean water. I dont know why, but I have had zero problems with rust or frozen bolts in the undercarriage. I have always hosed down the undecarriage afterwards though.

I have heard of the "rust belt" and the horror stories of broken body mounts so I def understand your concern. Soak the bolts for a few days w/penatrate and try a couple, if they dont want to budge than I would leave them alone.

Is Lancaster near West Chester? I went to elem school there (lived in Philly).

I'm about an hour west of philly, I used to spend a lot of time down in the Bryn Mawr area while my ex girlfriend went to school there, I love philly.

Yeah I think pretty soon I'm gonna try working on a BL, with 1" I don't have to mess with shifter extension right? Only the mounts and I've even heard the fan shroud can be left alone?

93sahara - Could you post a few more pics. Maybe one from the front so I can see how much your tires stick out. I like the look of your rig so very curious about the 33x10.5s.

TIA

I did not move the shroud but can see light scuffs where the fan barely hits while bouncing around. I did have to move the shift boot back alittle so I could get into 2nd 4th and R and I had to adjust the u-joint mount on the stearing column. All was easy and took ~1 hr.

MP

Edit: I'm actually heading out the door right now to get AR767 15x7 w/4"BS rims installed (stock BS was 5"). I hope this will solve my frame rub while flexed and allow me to remove the washers under the stops. $40 bucks ea.

Tell me about it...I had to learn about it the hard way. Both the rear body mount bolts snapped off when I was loosing them. They were so rusted up that the washer and bolt might as well have been one piece of metal. So...I took the pipe wrench to one with enough bolt to hold on to...it broke. The other one I got smart with and heated it up with a torch before even trying it. Luckily it came out (eventually), but the other I had to cut in to the body from the wheel well to extract the washer/bolt. Ah, I love my Jeep.

I flexed the crap out of it today crawling on every rock I could fine and I didnt get any frame rub, but I don't have revolvers like you either, so I'm gonna stick with stock BS wheels I wanna get my al cherokee wheels refinished and will eventually stick them on.

Yep, there's a connection between the two names. My SN is the accronym for the Heckler and Koch's famous military MP-5 submachine gun, alteration two (A2), used by the world's counter-terrorism teams. I don't know much about the SP-89 other than it is a pistol version of the MP-5, but I searched it on the 'Net and found it pretty cool. H&K has a new A3 model now that you can view on their website -

http://www.hecklerkoch-usa.com/

The reason behind my decision for the ambiguous accronym is simply that I like 'em and many people would look at it (the SN) and think it's just a compilation of arbitrary numbers and letters. Good catch MP.

Joe, Every pic I see of your jeep your all flexed up. Got any (boring driveway) pics of it sitting leval so I can see the clearance above tires?

Any idea what the BS is on those stock cherokee rims? They might be 4"BS. Today I went from stock 5" BS rims to AR767 15x7 w/4" BS and removed the washers behind my steering stops. I no longer rub my springs while turning (stock turning radius is back ) And while playing on my ramp it looks like I will no longer rub the frame when flexed.

HKMP5A2, your SN caught my attention and it took a minute to figure out why. MP5's are kinda untouchable in CA but I had my hands on a SP89 recently. Its identical to the MP5 except the full auto and burst selector positions have been removed. I actually got yelled at by the range martial cause I was firing off rounds too fast .
