Default QuadraTracII -> Select Trac conversion

Is it possible to compeltely convert my 2000 Limited QuadraTrac-II to a Select-Trac? Who should I get to do this? Is the dealership a good place or should I look for a 4x4 service place?

I'm in Houston if anyone has any ideas.

I am glad you asked this, I think of doing it all the time...

Yes it is possible, a few people have done this, NO my imagination says that a dealer, well just NO...
I know there is more to it, and not sure on the specifics, but I am sure the input shaft has to be changed, Dshafts on the other end and some bexel swapping inside...

But what I am really curious about is this Ram that I see at a yard here, NVG242HD, I think, not sure, but I know it is befier than the one behind the six... How about that one with the SYE and the 32 spline output, Chevy I think... That is what I really want, is that all reality driven or Is this not a cigarette?

I would think it would be easy enough since Selec Trac and the V8 were available together from the factory between 2000 and 2003- a rarer combination but still easy enough to find. I would think that if you found the sufficient parts at a junk yard you'd be able to do it. Keep us updated if you do- it's something I'll consider if I decide to keep my Jeep beyond its warranty expiration.

Dealership won't even think about doing something like that- don't even bother asking them. My dealership wouldn't even put my used Overland rock rails on my Jeep (I had it in for service anyway and thought maybe they'd stick them on free of charge rather than me sitting out in the snow putting them on).
