Default Gas Mileage and What Gender Owner

I know a lot has been discussed about the gas mileage with the Liberty. I have over 15,000 miles and the best I have got is 20.6.
I have found that my optimum speed for best mileage is 62 mph. That is when the overdrive kicks in and I run at about 2100 rpms.
Not much good on the Interstate, but on a 55 mph hwy it's not bad.

Also, there was talk about how many women drive the Liberty. I have checked it out and in my informal survey it runs about 60 % women.

I heard on the radio today however, that women comprise 34 % of Hummer drivers!!

I thought that was interesting.

Gas Mileage and What Gender Owner: he,he - topics together: the male gets 15 MPG (foot on the throttle excessively) and the female gets 30 MPG (drives slowly - so as not to spill her groceries/kiddies).
And also, in general - the bigger the SUV, the more obnoxious the driving behavior.

Talking I'm happy

I have 10K miles on this KJ. I'm the only one that drives it - since my wife is bumping into things A LOT lately. LOL

ANyhoo - looks like 18mpg is what I'm gettin - when it was damn cold out I was getting 15-16. Yeah I COULD get 20 if I drove like my grandma on a Sunday afternoon, but screw that. My KJ sees 80mph every day.

Default Gas Mileage/Gender

16+k mi. Have been getting ~ 16.7 mi/gal. Since spring haven't really been doing any calculations (no trip computer) , but have been averaging 300 mi./tank. I've seen other guys driving like the devil was on their tales *ahem SilverLib2k2* but I try to keep a light foot on the skinny pedal.Better for gas consumption.
Strictly male

Gas mileage: Don't know, never really cared to track it. If I was concerned about gas mileage I would have purchased another vehicle.

Gender: male

Cool picts LibertyKJ! Is that a location in NY (your sig. picts. - river, bay?)? the Garvin Wilderness rack is interesting - I guess I'll search on this. But anything you would care to add about it? Anthony (also)

Actually that's true for me too. I looked at mileage published figures before I bought the Lib. (looked OK) - the Lib's other positive features sold me (well, many! - but includes the compact size for garage fit).

Default It's the wife's

My wife drive's the 2002 4X4 sport with the 3.7liter, 14 K I have added the k and n airfilter element and use semi-synthetic oil. 17 miles to gallon in the city haven't checked it on the road lately, haven't been. Of course I get the 1996 Cherokee! I am still driving a JEEP!

Thanks! Those pics were taken in the East Hamptons at the last LOST "Reach the Beach" get-together. The Garvin rack is great! But without a fairing you get ALOT of wind noise. Also, if you are concerned about gas mileage, don't get it...you drop a couple miles per gallon.

I posted something about that a while ago...I too get the best mileage at 2150 or so. That is when it is in OD and the torque convertor has locked up. With 32's I am traveling 68.5 at 2150 ( per my GPSr ) and I get about 17mpg.

Male....typically get in the mid 16's even though mine is 95% highway driving, peak of 20.2. Seems to be improving as of late (passed 5k miles...maybe it's finally broken in???)

People say the same thing around here...that's more of a "female" vehicle. But I see mostly males driving them. I did notice that a lot of females drive the Sport models, and primarily males drive Limiteds and Renegades.

Doesn't matter....it's a neat vehicle no matter if it's considered to be a feminine or masculine vehicle!

I think it's more like, "the bigger the SUV, the more oblivious the driving behavior".
