I found this link awhile ago, but never tried it yet. It looks good and inexpensive.

Personally, I'm going to run the JKS stuff. The B2's on the front and B3's on the rear. I really think the beafyness is worth the price

I'm running the U-bolt skid plates that Quadratech, and 4wheeldrive hardware sell. I like them and I think they are cheaper than what you guys mentioned.
The U-bolt flip is another good way to protect your U-bolt ends. I beleive you take the mounts from a Ram Charger (mid '80s?) and you might have to do some trimming. Doing the Ubolt flip method won't sacrifise any ground clearance. |

I think I could make some of the JKS plates. Just have to find some channel that was the right size and weld on some plates to the top and drill holes. mmmm..... have to try this some time soon

Now isn't that an interesting Idea? Heck, could probably fashion one the same way for the front.
So we would need 2.5 inch ID channel. What do you think about using two more pieces of channel welded on both sides of the 2.5 for the Ubolts to bolt through? Add a couple of gussets inside the smaller channel. So you think this would hold up?or would it just be better to weld on some 1/4" plate and gusset it? Then get some 1" square stock and some replacement JKS shock bolts, drill and tap the stock then weld that on.

I got the Dynatrac u-bolt flip kit ... very stout and got everything out of the way ... lots more clearance than the u-bolt skids. Here's the spec sheet ...
