Don't you know that REAL men beat to sh!t out of their trucks driving across whatever gets in their way at 40 mph. I almost sold my YJ to buy a completely built TJ, D44 35's the works. I let somebody drive my YJ on a powerline trail, which are usually steep with a lot of deep ruts from runoff, and he was going 15-20 mph. My head hit the rollbar, with the seatbelt on and I asked him to stop so I could drive out. Most people just watch TV and think that driving fast is the only way to go.

Nissan's car commercials aren't any better. Like the one blasting across the dry lake bed, or worse yet the one about being a road hog.

Well, looks like another commericial showing what Pathfinders can't do (like a Jeep ) but enough to enrage the Greenies enough to outlaw us. I have never seen a Pathfinder or any Nissan offroad yet. I have seen Jeeps (from CJ to ZJ), Broncos, Blazers and Land Rovers (and even an Expedition) but never a Nissan. BTW anyone know the song in that commercial? Been bugging me a while.

Also, what is up with Ford? They withdraw from the US4WDA and now they say that SUV's are bad? Did I miss something here?

I am not pro Nissan or anything... Actually I would never even think of buying a Nissan... Anyways, When i saw the commercial, I thought it was kind of amusing! It never even occured to me that it sent out bad signals about 4 wheeling. Besides... who is going to buy a Nissan to 4 wheel!!! So lighten up a little!

Gee....

I thought the commercial was pretty cool.

I bet if you look realy close, somewhere there is extra fine print that says "don't do this at home" or something like that, thereby making everything O.K..

I bet I could kick major Nissan butt at polo in my YJ especially with doors off. Until I fall out. On second thought, I may barrow the wifes TJ, its an automatic.

I just saw a Jeep commercial and get this....

It showed a Grand Cherokee driving through a creek!!!!!

Oh, no!!

What will people think? We off-roaders are doomed!!

The Grand may have squashed a fish or maybe the sound of the V-8 caused a mating dysfunction of a "(insert endangered species of choice here)"!

We need to talk with those Jeep Ad Exec's to make sure they cut that kind stuff out in the future.

Maybe a 360 degree camera pan shot in one of Intel's "Clean Rooms" while the voice-over describes how environmentally friendly the Jeep is?

I want to see a commercial of a TJ on a pristine, white sand beach flexing on a humpback whale carcass.

I have to kind of agree that some of these commercials go too far and could give us a bad name. But when you think about it *anything* will get those eco-nazis going. They want us all getting 50mpg, and not even driving unless going to work, and please make your list so you will only make one trip to the store.
On a similar note I've been hanging out on an AR/Vegan board for entertainment purposes. Those people are nuts!! They want to take all our rights and interests away.
Oh,Sorry, started to stray off topic here, but these do-gooder,eco-nazi,freakzoid, AR fanatics, wanting to shove their belief down peoples throats, who probably won't leave the city to see the lands they are protecting, or can identify one animal that they want to "protect", nut cases really get me going.
Oh, sorry, my ranting again----Hey! Its late.

PS hope I didn't offend anyone.

Sorry folks i gotta agree with some of the other jeepers lets lighten up on all the crappy advertising and take all this pent up negative energy and use it on the trails. thats is, its easy to vent here but why not let the bozo thats tearing up the trails(literally) know how you feel about their trail techniques! don't get me wrong i am not advocating "trail rage" or anything like that but its hard for me to beleive that commercials cause tree huggers to pass legislation banning our freedoms but it is more likely the bozos actually on the trails tearing them up piss the tree huggers off enough to get on a legislative tirade.
