Thanks, Its my first one, and also first time dealing with moisture cured Polyurethanes (bed liners) Not too tough... But after witnessing the horror stories of herculiner-gone-wrong, I made sure the surface was thoroughly prepped. I sanded all the open areas with a wire brush, Rust killed with a Zinc Phosphating spray, and then sanded with 80 grit. I laid glass down over 2 small holes that were placed by the "PO" for a CB radio or something. let the glass cure, scrubbed with 80 grit , tack clothed, and then rolled out the liner. 3 thin coats..

Now if I could just get the 258 to transform itself into a 304...

Good looking 5. Nice looking job on the liner too. It sounds like you are going about it right, take your time and do it right the first time, it will pay off in the end. But you can tell it's your first Jeep, the garage is entirely too neat and not covered with Jeep parts.

In the before pics there was bed liner already in place, did you remove it? What did you use? how much work was it? I am looking at a 7 that has that stuff inside and coming loose. Like I really need another project,,,,

Yes the liner was peeling terribly, but stuck in certain places very well.

I used a hand grinder with a heavy duty wire wheel to flake off the liner that had poor adhesion.. You have to stop/go at this as the wire wheel gets hot and starts to smear the liner that is in place.

I then "roughed up" the spots of liner with 80 grit as well as sanded the exposedtub surfaces.. (Needed fresh clean liner surface to promote adhesion). I wiped my tub down with heavy solvent (Xylene or acetone)

And then let her rip and laid the liner.. I applied it in such a way to try to leve the finish as much as possible.. It is a far cry fro a professional job. But its not a show jeep.. Its My jeep!!

Love the color! Greal looking rig. How do you like the lights on teh hood that way? We had an old rover come with them mounted similarly and they produced a ton of glare off the hood.
