Actually, if you look at the window proportions from my WJ to the new Grand, they're not that far off. But the reason they're going with the sloping roof is for aerodynamics, and the windows are a result of new safety standards, where the doors are actually taller for better impact resistance. They are trying to accommodate consumers by making their vehicles safer and more efficient. That doesn't sound so bad to me.

I see a mix of all the past Grands. Grille looking more square like the ZJ's. Headlights most similar to WJ, body a lot like WK with a bit of WJ shape as well. I can't decide if I like it or not. Its ok.

Default A little microsof paint

I wanted to prove a point and learned a bit here. So I took a WK body, added WJ Headlights (not the whole headlight however), ZJ grille, and ended up adding a WJ front bumper as well. I think they look pretty similar. What I learned however is that the body style has changed enough from the WK so yeah it is its on new design i wuld say. BTW i had fun with this.

WHAT's THAT??? The Patriot is the "essence" of the XJ???? (I read that in the Jeep Dealership's lobby) That's a joke and a half.... They need to make the Grand the capable yet luxurious Jeep it once was.

Grrr. Eventually I'll want to buy a new one, but if on the same track then, I'll be investigating some Toyota's and other brands as well.... sad...
I'm with you on this. for once I'm looking at other 4x4. OH GOD a Toyota how can I even think of it. If they are all IFS why not a Toyota, or a Ford but it still has to be 4X4.

It's Awsome. I still don't like the IFS but it's a Jeep.

Sleeker, maybe. But I still think the WJ looks better. Just change the front headlights to projection.

I like the looks of both of them, but I will say that the '04 WJ was a damn good looking vehicle.

Yes, it'll be a bit more of a pain to install taillight guards, but I'll survive. If they provide the service of protecting my family by better alerting tail-gaters to stop, then I love 'em!

Everyone should get over it.

Ugh, they ripped those tail lights off a Honda Oddessy.

More like a Toyota, but yeah...probably the weakest design cue for just about everyone who comments on the new Grand.
