    Wink HEMI Commander envy!

I took my in-laws 2010 Commander 4X4 HEMI for a spin...wow! Commanders can really scoot with the HEMI. It would give my 167,000 mile Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited a run for its money. I wish that my 6,000 pound Ram 2500 4X4 HEMI felt like the 4,000 pound Commander.
On the downside, the I.F.S. does not flex very well off-road. It had a little trouble getting through a mild twisty spot. Lots of tire spin and bucking.
My wife and I almost considered a 2006 Commander back in mid-2005. I decided against it because of the I.F.S. We ended up getting a 2005 Ram Power Wagon.

A bit off on your weights, the 2010 4x4 Hemi tips the scales at over 5100lbs bone dry

Wow! I did not know that the Commander was that much heavier than the Grand Cherokee it is based off of?

Yeah, I was referring to the Commander, with the 4,000+ weight estimate. I guess it would be closer to 4,500 pounds considering my 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited is just a shade over 4,000 pounds.

We love our '10 Hemi, but geez - $60 a tank per week and we don't tow anything or go anywhere! (I have to keep reminding myself we didn't buy it for the MPG!!!!)...

It takes around $125.00 to $130.00 (89 octane) to fill-up, thankfully only once every 8 to 10 days, my wife's 2005 Ram 2500 HEMI. Our 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited goes through about $80.00 (programmed for 87 octane instead of the O.E. 91 octane) a week.

You & me both, brudda! We had 2" of snow today - first snowfall since I bought it 3 weeks ago. I was looking for snowy fields to drive it through, just to give it a workout!

Ours has the 4.7 and I just took it for a long drive. Central Indiana to northwestern 'bama and back. Did absolutely great with the 4.7L V8. Got 18+ MPG on the interstate.

While I would love the power of the Hemi, I am glad I only have the 4.7L and it has more than enough power to motivate itself quite well.

I could not even imagine the poor suckers with the V6.
