Icon928 '93 zj starts and dies

I have looked at all of the other threads on jeeps doing the same thing. I have tried the key in the passengers door lock, trunk lock and drivers lock. We even found a thread on by-passing the auto shutdown. Still does the same thing. Fuel pressure is fine. We even started it in nuetral then dropped it in drive holding the key in the start position. HELP

Sounds like a crank sensor to me, does it have a CEL by chance?

Have you checked the harness? My friends 93 grand with a 4.0 starts and runs and randomly shuts off. Then turns on again. Has every sensor new, but the old harness still on. Have you checked all the grounds?

Hold the gas down about 1/3 way and try again. . .

I am currently having the same problems in mine. Please post if you find the solution, I've tried the fuel pressure, and am about to try the locking of the doors.

It seems to me it's some sort of computer shutdown problem. Otherwise it wouldn't be the same time span before it shuts down. I'm almost willing to bet it's a some sort of computer security issue...

usually just lock reset cpu (unplug battery) then lock doors using electronic door lock then close the door and unlock it with the key.
