    Default off roading -washougal, WA

    Went wheeling today in washougal.
came at a price, as i hit a stump and caused a 4 inch crack in the rear bumper. Also, the plastic molding under the door ripped off, so i grabbed gloves and ripped the other side off.
all in all the jeep pulled through.

Looks like fun. How does that grill guard attach? Could you mount a winch to it?

also another question - where the moldings below the doors were there is a protruding piece of metal that is all bent and torn up . will this be a problem for aftermarket rock rails (4xguard, or rocky road) ?

is there a place to buy new plastic moldings?

but what im sayying is what are the supports for the rock rails to attatch them? because if its that protruding weld, mines pretty bent up and dented.

Need pics of the bent metal portions before we can answer whether or not the 4xGuard rails will work.

X2 on the pics but I would assume you can bend things back with some vise-grip plyers and a hammer to get the 4xguard rails to fit overtop of the damage.

$70 ebay for a slightyl scratched one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-07...15146010r34007

I need the tow hitch bezel/trim part but I think I can get it cheap at a dealer. The plastic rivets busted off mine.

mine has a different towing package, not with bumper cutout.

would it be cheaper to get the crack fixed, or a new bumper bought and painted

You might try going to a body shop and get their advice as someone might have some tricks to repair and paint it so that it is not noticeable. Otherwise i would search salvage yards for a used one.

How about a shot from 5 feet away. Kinda hard to get a good perspective from that shot.

Colo.Kid (4xGuard) should be able to advise but it looks like you may need to use a BFH as a persuader to straighten out some of the damage first !
