Default 4.2l headers and 4.0 headers

I need headers for my 4.2l engine. Are the 4.2l headers the same as 4.0l headers. If not who sells 1987 yj 4.2l headers reasonable?

I want to try using this as a duel exhaust setup, just not sure it will fit a YJ.

The 4.0 header is different than your standard 4.2 header. You should either go aftermarket or find a good used 4.2 header. I have a borla and it really helped with power.

I would also try a pace setter or something else if you are looking to go cheaper.... Goodluck!

Anyone know if that CJ-258 header in my link above will fit a 4.2L YJ.

I'm pretty sure it'll bolt to the head, but worry it might not fit around everything else.

It will bolt up but probably not have all the hookups you need if you want emissions legal. It depends on what year cj too, if its a mid to late 80's it will probably be almost identical.
