Amsoil ASL series 5w30 if you want to extend your service intervals. Best paired w/ the Ea series oil filter. I run my 03 & 04 KJ's w/ 3.7L 10K miles+ or yearly on oil changes. Past used oil analysis has told me I could run considerably longer.

(Ignore all of the off-topic stuff)

Don't use Mobil 1, don't use scamsoil, and don't use the wal-mart brand synthetic.

I use Q-state horsepower in my KJ, I will try Castrol Edge next.

    Use 5W-30 year round.

Why would you send Anyone to That thread?

    You said it yourself:

Many millions of miles of testing in diffferent vehicles have proven that it can do so. Would I use it for that long in any of my vehhicles? No. I do however enjoy yearly or 10-15K mile change intervals. (or when I feel like it) My UOA's have come back just fine as have my customers that have had them.

Will other brands of oil go as long and work as well? I'm sure they might but I would make sure w/ used oil analysis. (though not worth it if not Trying to extend your service interval right?)

Anyhow, oil discussions always end up like religious or political discussions and trying to win one is a big waste of time and effort.

Use whatever makes you happy and Go wheel instead of e-arguing.

Mobil1 is not bad,the extended performance Mobil 1 is there true full synthetic,on par with Amsoil.Don't trust any oil testes not by certified labs and that are not sponsored by any oil producers either(they make them biased).

I have put almost 10,000 miles on my oil since the last change. I use Castrol GTX regular old dinosaur oil, 10w30. Still kicking.

I probably should change my oil.
