    Icon322 4.5 inch lift w/ 35 inch tires

Is anyone running a 4.5 inch lift w/ 35 inch tires. If so, can you post pictures? I can get a really, really, good deal on some 35 pro comp x-terrain m/t.

I know of a couple grands running that setup...but you're gonna have to bumpstop and trim the hell outta your ZJ in order to make it work right.

You could always send me those tires if you can't get them to work

Forgot to mention it's a 2002 WJ. It's my DD. So i'm not worried about bump stops. I have my XJ for offroading.

The 35's won't fit regardless of what motor he has. Eazyi, you said no trimming to body, what about the bumpers? Thats where you'll have the biggest problem due to the increased scrub radius.

not only is gonna be slow
but your tranny wont hold up long to it
    nor will your rear end

    stick with what you have

32s are said to be about the max the dana35 will handle

and the crappy 42re tranny you have goes on regular tires with normal driving
so if you do put 35s on(which will require LOTS of body cutting) your drivetrain will die alot sooner

I know someone who has 35s on his 4.5ish 5" lifted WJ. And yes, he wheels it.

I bet he's trimmed a good bit, or is running without bumpers...Did you even read the thread or just pop in and post?

The rear end will hold up just fine if running only on the street. What you don´t spend on re-gearing you axles will be spent on transmission rebuilds. 4'' of lift is plenty for 35´s if you´re willing to trim some sheet metal. If done right, it will look good.

42re is not crappy, it would be just fine if you re-geared your rear axle. Like Joi said, the money you dont spend on re-gearing is money to be spent on transmission rebuilds.

the 42re has came a long way actually. ive had a couple of vehicles that had it, very decent transmission. a transmission is a transmission, they all go out.

if running only on the streets...honestly...why not just do a BB and 32's?...i cant stand the guys with jacked up F350s with 10 inch lifts and big tires...they never go off road! makes me want to punch them!...

go to the picture thread on this site. you'll find plenty of WJs that have just a BB and its more than enough of a lift for a DD...they look beefy already and you wont have to spend $1000+ just to make your jeep "Look" cool. besides...who wants to top out at 65 MPH on the freeway anyways?...

Why do you care if someone doesn´t take their truck off road, big tires or not??

How expensive do you think ''off road'' tires and accessories would be if the only people to buy them were people who regularly go off road? Be glad they´re not turning them into low-riders.

Because you shouldn't have something unless you use it, if your doing it to just showoff then atleast make it clear and don't go overboard.

because i just so happen to do these lifts sometimes. ...find something else better with your money. put a down payment on a brand new car with a warranty...buy a lawnmower...re-asphalt your driveway...etc...not some stupid pathetic lift on your truck that your wife cant even get in.
