    The hinges are the same.
I hung my YJ half doors on on TJ.
But.... the latch mechanism is different between a YJ & a TJ.

I have a set of half doors from a 91 and they do fit on the 2005. I have the latches from the 91. I wonder if it's a simple bolt on swap. I'd swap the latch when I swap to the hard top if it were easy to do.

The lower halfs will fit the opening, hinges will line up, may have to do a slight adjustment, as with any door swap....
The uppers are different, you will have to modify the lowers window holes to fit a Tj upper set, if you want to run uppers, the windshields run at different angles.

    Alright that's enough.
Yes they do line just fine. I've seen a guy who put YJ door pins on a TJ and used YJ doors on a TJ, so I'm sure you can do the opposite.
And you can use YJ Bestop Supertop uppers to go with a TJ softop.

not without trimming the top of it or something, YJ's are squared off, and TJ's have a round edge.

Egg sacly, you would have to adapt the TJ uppers to a set of yj lowers to make it work, and of course as said somewhere, the latches would have to be adapted... As they are different.
