TJ seats in a YJ?

Anybody know if this would be a direct bolt in or would I have to modify things to fit. I need new seats in my YJ and can get a good price on TJ seats. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks,

this is completely your choice...
but...

TJ seats are damn ass ugly!
I'm sure you could find something nicer
for similar $

no idea about bolt in or not
measure your YJ seat brakets and holes etc...
then ask someone on here with a TJ to do the same
pretty simple
but i don't think the floor mounts would be the sme as floor contours in TJ and YJ differ

You will have to use the Yj brackets and do some fabbing as the holes won't match up.

Probably need to weld on some small pieces of flat iron (2 inches wide by a couple of inches long)

I may be doing this tommorrow.

The problem, I hear, is the TJ seats are like an inch taller, so while bolting up is easy, getting them at a good height is not.

Yes the TJ seats will sit higher but my YJ ones are so out of foam I'm looking forward to it. Also with it making me sit higher I think I will have a better view of my fenders when on the trail....I'm 6'2"

Cutch, please let me know how you make out with your install. I may just end up buying the best top sport seats. But I am very curious about any problems you have or the extent of the fabrication necessary. Feel free to email me or just post it here.

Ok, some may laugh but I live near a van customizing place and I purchased two new take outs with grab handles on the back. Two holes match up fine brackets but had to redo the other two. Seats sits about two inches higher but the cost for both high buckets were 140.00 the nice thing is now my wife can't reach the clutch!! It's Mine All Mine!!

I dunno if TJ seats will fit or not but I replaced my YJ seats with Eagle talon seats, I had to make a little bracket cause the seats where slightly wider. I would highly recomend trying to get a pair from a scrapyard or something they are really comfy and they recline! If you want I can take pictures and post them.

i've got a set of toyota supra seats that are a direct bolt in for a yj. Had them for a while sitting here...they needed a few brackets welded on..but they are a direct bolt in now. Let me know if anyone could use these. I"ll let them go for a decent price..they are very comfy.
