ok well its that time for me to make the change to super flex http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

anyhow i have found that Warrior has a kit that includes 4 perches and weld on shock mounts all for 60 bucks...where as RE sells just the perches for like 30 bucks each(which is rediculous)

so what do you guys reccomend??? where should i buy the perches from, and are there specific ones i should look for???...i know i need them for 2.5 inch wide springs

thanks

I think the RE's are $30 a pair. But as far as spring perches go make sure they are 1/4". Competition Engineering has nice perches for $20 a pair, Summit Racing sells them. Shock mounts can be made from c-channel and a hole saw.

Not sure where you got your RE pricing but that's what I have on all 4 corners and they were only about $40 for the set (all 4). I bought the 6" anti-wrap version although I did have to make some mofifications in order to fit on the D60 rear and the front passenger side D44 front. They work great and do aid in the axle wrap issues with SOA. Definately recommend them!!

How's the build up going anyway???

Hmm, thats right. The CE ones I bought were $10 a pair and RE's were $20. I had the RE on my AMC 20 and D30 but still managed to fubar the springs. I still plan on using the RE's on my front D44 and run a traction/antiwrap bar on the rear.

It seems that every thread about SOA has something more interesting to be found! http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/images/ubb/biggrin.gif

Keep the ideas coming!

has anyone gone cheapo and used their own c channel to make spring mounts? or is it even worth the hassel?

Sure if you have the material available for cheap, 1/4" x 2.5" square tube or c-channel, use a hole saw, oxy, or plasma cutter. Otherwise $20 for spring perches all 4 corners.

ksdaoski - It's not worth it. Purchased spring perches will fit exactly to the axle providing a excellent weld bead.

Making your own is an option but for $40.00, I decided to purchase. However, the RE's did NOT fit exactly so I did have to do some grinding. The non-fit was primarily due to them not making perches for D60's at the time and the D44 perches were only for a rear application which means the front perch on the pumpkin side (passenger in my case) had to be cut with a plasma cutter and then ground a little.

Steve's right. It's easy to make 'em, but why hassle with it for $40? I use the RE anti-wrap perches, but they do need to be clearanced a bit unless you're running stock axles.

Well, if you called Randy and had him add you to his RE group buy you could save 20% like I did ... lol

I ordered 2 full sets. I'm using one and Jackie and Eric are spliting the other. BTW - the RE anti wraps are like 6-6.5" long and the MORE are 7" with three spring position options to lengthen the wheel base.

not a whole lot to see ... the axles are gone, the springs are sitting on the old BFGs and the 14" travel shocks are still in the box, the shock relocation crap is colletcing dust, the Revolvers are hanging, the flares are off and the rocker guards are finally built ... but you help cut the fenders some more http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/images/ubb/biggrin.gif
