I was adding my Yj to the YJ and TJ Ratio thread and I was wondering why we flame each other. Tj guys bring up the round head lights, and the Yj guys bring up the different suspension, and so on and so on. Is this a bunch of joking around or is there a serious division between Yj and Tj owners.???. Just thought I would ask.

If stuck I wouldn't care what pulled me out, could by a lawn boy, as long as I could get home.
Thanks
Seeya

I love all Jeeps. I have owned so many different types, years, styles etc. that I don't think that it matters. As long as it is a Jeep, who cares? I really think most all folks who post their opinions really don't care. I polk fun at TJ's too, cause I own a YJ (now), but I believe that for the most part, we all get along. http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/images/ubb/biggrin.gif

This is getting beat to death YJ vs TJ, we should include CJs also. They are all Jeeps of the same basic design, I like them all. Is the YJ an improvement over the CJ?, maybe in some ways. Is the TJ an improvement over the YJ?, maybe in some ways. THEY ARE ALL JEEPS! They never built the perfect one, thats we we build-em, mod-em with bolt-ons or whatever.

Just enjoy what you have and WAVE!

The whole TJ vs YJ thing is a lot like the John Deere vs IH (Case) (I've was born raised and spent most of my life in Ohio in farm land USA- JD fan of course) or Warn vs Ramsey vs SuperWinch, etc. Each one has their pro and con, but most SWB Jeepers have a preference.

oh yeah?
well, if i'd known that all this sheet was gonna be involved in owning a jeep, I would've kept my chevette....at least I wouldn't get "flamed" when I'd keep up with a 5.0......for a little while anyway......
jeeps suck.....but i love mine anyway.....

Ok, Im going to be honest with you. My biggest peve with the TJ is the suspension. I just plain don't like the complexity. Maybe its just because I have a little brain and can't comprehend this whole "long arm, short arm" thing, but I just don't like them.
Oh, and Jeeper15, my yj has AC, does that make it a grandma car?

It's a fun thing. A lot like like my best friend and I who have grown up together and hunted and fished together for 40+ years. He has always had Ford ( Broncos and 4X4 Trucks ), and Mercury outboard motors. I have always been a Chevy, and Johnson man. But weve always been best friends.

A few weeks ago I buried my yj to the frame and a 4.0L xj could'nt pull me out, so a ZJ with a 12000LB mile marker winch pulled me out. From the driver seat the only thing I knew for sure was they were jeeps. Beggars cant be choosers. Now if a toyota was at the other end of the winch I may have opted to spend the night. http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif I love them all. As long as they evolved from Bantom......

Just for grins Scott. Have you ever considered a few things? The spring you buy affects your ride greatly. The shock I buy affects mine.

If I don't like my ride, I can turn the dial and make it better or worse without picking up a wrench. How's that for simplicity?

I don't get axle wrap, ever. You have to build a copy of our link bars to stop axle wrap, screw it up and you have to start over and make another one. Or, at the least, inhibit your flex so much that you wonder why you ever started with that crap anyway. Not that simple to do.

I want to put on 35's, very simple. 4" lift and a 1" body. No rubbing, easy to do.

Explain to me again what you have to do to run 35's?

I don't like my stock arms, I can pick from at least 15 different kits out there, and a couple of offerings in each line.

How many kits are there to do a spring over on yours?

Before you get all ruffled, I am just picking on you. http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/wink.gif
