I have the 5 spokes wheels that you see everywhere.I don't know how to mesure the backspacing, and i'll like to know what it is. I need new wheels with more backspacing so my tires don't gring the leafs.
Thanx for answer.

5.5"

If your going with a 10.5" tire, I recommend 4" BS, thats what I've used on my past 3 sets.

Go to http://www.wheeladapter.com/check_backspacing.asp for how to determine your backspacing. Your wheels are probably either 5.25" or 5.5" of backspacing. A 10.5" is 1" wider than the factory 9.5 so at a minimum, 4.5" of backspacing would be a good goal, but probably 4" since 4" is a lot easier to find. Reducing the backspacing a little is good the taller the lift anyway, since it gives your Jeep a slightly wider stance.

I have aluminum 5-spoke 15x7 YJ wheels on my TJ at the moment, they are 5.25" backspacing.

I will tell you this much you will be rubbing and have to make considerable adjustments to the steering stops or wheel spacers at the least. I put only 30 *9.50s on my YJ stock (dont involved some road damage and I had to have tires then) and have just a very light amount of rubbing at absolute full turn. Originally didnt think I did but apparently I have a very very small amount of contact between the edge of the treat on the passenger side (as the tire wears down it should disappear an 1/16th of an inch would be enough). However somehow somewhere the swaybar is rubbing minimally on the sidewall (adjusting steering stops this weekend) dont know how because lock to lock there is not contact with the swaybar only thing I can figure is when I back out hard out of a parking place the bar is flexing or pushed over into the tire. Of course with care it doesnt happen but there is a definate rub mark there from the first few days.

Goodluck!
