This picture is kind of straight on, but if you look closely at the driver's side rear, you can see how far it drops. Hope this helps and sorry for the bad pic. I need to get my photographer (girlfriend) to get more angled shots where you can see the whole jeep.

Stupid non html link back web hosting services.....
I have some better flex shots somewhere, but I cannot find the shot right now.
Without a track bar, and with the 3.5" BDS springs, the shocks are the only limiting factor.
I got another 6" of droop in a better flex postion...

That's it I am taking off my rear track bar http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif
How did you guys manage to remove yours? While installing a BDS AAL kit on my'n we tried it but the top bolt on the rear track bar was just frozen in place. We kept the impactgun on it for a while but it did not help http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/frown.gif

Open a large can O' Whoop Ass and prepare to beat on your tools. After you are done, go to sears hardware and trade in the carcases for new ones.

Ocassionally it runs good. Every time I go to take it off road it breaks down before I get there. Must be a Jeep thing.

When you take the rear (and front for that matter) track bars off... how's regular street driving? Is it okay for highways?

I drive on freeway without trackbars and swaybar disconnected. The only difference I can notice is when cornering, and that would be fixed by connecting swaybar. Otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem, just don't forget that it's a Jeep, not a Porsche. http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

When I took my rear trac bar off, I didn't really notice that big a difference. What really effects your driving is the sway bar, with that off everything gets loosey goosey. Mind you, I had my sway bar off before I took the rear trac bar off, so I was used to the sway, that may be why I didn't notice a large difference.
I still have my front trac bar connected, but I plan on making it "disconnectable" for offroad trips.
I might - *might* put my sway bar back on with disconnects...my wife's started driving and I think it'd be easier on the road for her.

karinne, I just recent took off both trackbars and the swaybar. It only took me a 2 mile test drive to show me that you need to have either the track bar or sway bar connected in the front for daily driving. It was all over the road! Now if it is a trail only rig, different story! http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/images/ubb/biggrin.gif
I put the front trackbar back on and it drives better now, but still leans more in the turns. Leave the rear one off for sure.

trackbars hell, the next time I got off-road I might disconnect my shocks so they don't limit any flex.

there are some good pictures shown here.
how many of you had to install longer brake lines? front or rear?
what kind of lifts do all of you have with those that are really flexed.

I have no pics, but as far as the rear track bar, Passenger side removal+13/16 box end wrench and water pump pliers...Driver side 13/16 box end wrench....then the dremel with cutoff wheel....then the 4.5" cutoff wheel...boy those were alot of sparks...then two water pump pliers, a few funny faces...hold your lips right...curse of necessary (It was for me)...then Viola!
It rides the same, but the clunking sound from the slotted hole in the axle side of the track bar mount has been silenced.
***Just for the record***how many other leaf spring equipped vehicles use trackbars...not too many!

does anyone have a drop pitman arm and have no front trac bar? I have the drop arm on my jeep and would like to know if taking the front off would be bad with the drop arm.
thanks

Well mine, the green YJ on the fork lift...poser picture http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif
The only lift I have on it is an add-a-leaf with stock springs. Also a 1" body lift, but that won't account for any flex. It does flex nicely I think for a YJ. Better than some of those stiff 4" lift's.
No extended brake lines, still have stock shocks, they might be holding me back.

I had to install longer brake lines, cause the stock ones were like guitar strings after the lift got installed.
I've got Rubicon Express 4.5" Extreme Duty lift, no track bars, no bump stops. I have 2" body lift also, and it still rubs my 33s at full flex.
