Hey,
I am going to lift my YJ and am looking to run 32s. I have heard good things about the BDS 3.5,
Anyone here running it have an opinion on it?
How much is it going to run me for a kit?
What kind of shocks would you recommend?
Will it allow me to fit 32s without rubbing? Will I need any driveline mods with this?
Does it give a fairly good street ride?

This is for an 89 4 cyl.

I've had the BDS on for some months now, no complaints at all. Street ride is fine, I drive it at least 50 miles every day (hwy/city) and it handles great. A little bumpy, but then it's a Jeep ...

I've got the BDS shocks as well, no prob there either. Also, I put in 33X9.50s with no other mods and haven't had any rubbing problems.

I paid $659 for mine, though that was a special price through a friend. This included the springs, hardware, shocks, pitman arm, extended brake lines, bumpstops and sway bar links (non-disco). You might wanna try www.bds-suspension.com, (http://www.bds-suspension.com,) I think that is their website, and it has a list of dealers you can call for pricing.

I'll have to get back to you for reports on flex, I just recently put in the extended brake lines (due to a hardline problem with rust) so haven't had a chance to really test it out yet.

I just installed mine last week.

$190 for springs and bushings shipped to my door from Jarrett at Rough Country Outfitters. www.discount4wd.com (http://www.discount4wd.com) Tell him Darrell aka BostonWrangler sent you.

I then got Ubolts made for the D30 for under $20 at a local suspension shop (I already had new ones made a few months ago for the 8.8 so I didnt need those, but they were about the same price for the 4).

I got MORE greaseable shackles with 3/8" lift.

Some new misc. bolts for the main eyes etc...

I'm getting some used shocks for $60 so lets see. My self-made kit ended up at $290.

Jarrett sells the whole kits also and when you buy a BDS lift, you get 1/2 any shocks he carries. His prices are really outstanding as was his customer service. I highly recommend him!

EDIT: I forgot to answer your other questions.

I have about 1.25" tcase drop and I have some slight vibes. I used 4 degree shims on the rear end, but maybe I need 6 degree. Maybe I should just have my pinion angle set properly by rewelding the spring perches http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

I think that is all I had to do. You may need longer brake hoses as well. Factor in another $75 for a set of those.

I have had the BDS lift on since about may and i have no complaints about it either. I got my lift and shocks from Bob Suplee for 440, but that did not include the shocks. It was a very complete kit and the warranty is outstanding, i also beleive, someone correct me if i am wrong, that BDS is the only company that will guaruntee that the springs will not sag below advertised height. I also run the BDS shocks, no complaints there either. There is a pic of my jeep in my sig if you want to look at it http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/wink.gif. HTH
