Hey I know allot of people like the WJ, ZJ and XJ and my wife and I own a 2000 Grand Cherokee and it is a Jeep, but when I think of Jeep I think of the MB, CJ, YJ and TJ’s. These are the Jeeps I love to drive. More so than any sports car or any truck. I have owned a Jaguar E-Type convertible and still own a Buick Grand National, but they are not near as fun to drive as my TJ. Actually I am going through withdraws not having my TJ for over 9 months now. As you can see from my signature the conversion on this Jeep is extensive, but I think it is well worth it.
This weekend my wife and I went to a Jeep dealership in Dallas to check on part availability and got talking to a salesman. After hearing how much we missed our Jeep he asked if we would like some keys to one of the new TJ’s on the lot to take out for a spin. We were thankful, but graciously declined.
This is leading up to a question to other fellow TJ, YJ, CJ and even MB owners. This Jeep design has been with us for 60 years now and it has helped to win wars to delivering our mail from our loved ones and bills included, but don’t you think this may be in jeopardy now. Why I say this is the site of a new TJ or TJ style vehicle is comforting that everything in this world just doesn’t change all that much. Since the Liberty (KJ) has come out I feel this will change. People in the CJ and Wrangler site may understand what I mean. I just feel it will be a shame that a Wrangler will be no more than a Liberty that the top comes off or anything of a futuristic moon buggy that looks like the new Jeep show vehicles.
I can honestly say I will miss seeing these types of vehicles on the road. It if fun to not have al the computer stuff from electric windows to leveling suspensions. It is nice to take the top off and hear the wind ramming into the driver’s seat. I will miss the current Wrangler if it does become independent suspension and all electric everything. Boy we have become lazy!
What do you think?
Regards
