I just bought a 94 YJ, it has an unidentified monoleaf lift. I would guess it to be about 4", plus 2" body lift, running 35s.
The steering seems a little sloppy, actually isnt bad until you apply throttle, the steering will jerk a little to the left and when you let off throttle the steering will jerk a little to the right.
My first guess is cast shims, because there isnt any installed.
I have some 6* shims on their way, but can anyone think of anything else? I know caster shims will help the wondering, but how about the on and off throttle wonder.

Well I am wondering if it is really the steering or a lunchbox style locker in the rear causing the jerking when you apply throttle and then let off. I had a lunchbox locker in mine for a while and this is one of the bad things I had to deal with. Might be worth checking out.

check bushings in your springs or loose u-bolts for the axles shifting
check front end for loose compontents tie rods drag link etc

The lift should be the Skyjacker rock ready 6" YJ lift. Thats the only monoleaf setup I know of. What you are feeling is bump steer 101. There are a few options for a SUA susp. to help correct this. Tie-rod flip kits. High steer knuckles. Drop pitman arm. Basically anything that will decrease the angle of the drag link. The closer to level the less bump steer. The front track bar will help as well but only if the angle of the drag link and track bar match.

its not bump steer
after adding caster shims on front axle it helped a little bit with the throttle shift. but after playing with some diffrent things it seems these mono leaf springs are really soft and shift left-right very easily with your hand. Im guessing thats the culpret. I will be replacing them soon with RE 4.5 springs anyways, dont trust the monoleaf setup.
also found bad TRE so i will be replacing with the rustys setup

I know a guy that has that mono leaf set up and he loves it. He gets great flex on the trails. What do your shackle bushings look like?
