... gents, I am looking to replace the broke mirrors on the '91 yj - being cheap I do not want to pay the $80 for new ones and all the boneyards here are a wash. i just need the mirror w/ bolt as the brackets have been relocated. repair is not an option as i wave and flap in the wind. any suggestions ???

I know the local Harley shop here sells mirrors for about $9 that fit into the existing brackets. They aren't very big and don't look the best, but they function and are cheap.

I wrapped about 1/3 of a roll of black plastic tape around the joint, just below the mirror but above the bracket. This worked until it got warm out. Then it was back to the jeep mirror wave.
So I got the idea to put a hose clamp around it all & tighten it until it almost stripped the worm gear. This has been holding for a year & 1/2 now!
No wiggles, no waving!:umn:
