So its been a very busy week. I replaced the seal on the Distributer - retimed the beast. Replaced fuel filter and a few other filters. I fixed and replaced the Relay on my warn winch. and got that running again. Replaced vaccum lines with new ones. Then the kicker was i found a rebuild kit for 10 bucks at autozone, so i rebuilt my spare Carb and installed it. And fired it up runs good but the timing keeps jumping. Is this caused by the timing chain being stretched and wore out?

Almost there,

Kind of hard to tell without more info on your rig....is it an 88? 4.2 ? what mods? Nutter?

Ahhh thats my fault, Newbee still -

88 wrangler - 4.2 stock 2 barrel carb. No major engine mods.

I had to pull the distributor to replace the seal due to the fact it was pushing oil out. i replaced the distributor back exactly how i pulled it and the timing jumps. I actually never really realized but the timing was jumpy before i messed with the distributor. Ive only had my rig for about a year and a half now. Ive got it running better. i just have to flip a spring in the carb that installed backwards. and i think it will fix the running issue I'm having now. but for the Distributor I pulled it again and placed it back in and now it has magically cured it self. So where I'm at now I'm thinking/ hoping itll be running again. Ive waste 2 weekends away of sunshine!! I cant wait to go for a ride!

That happened to me. Timing jumped around, I blamed a lot of other stuff, to include speaker fluid, before I figured out that it was a sloppy timing chain
