Loosing power.....

Hey there,
Ok so I figured out the alarm thing for now and decided that Im going go on the road and test the truck...It runs fine if you slowly give it gas and maintain it but if you slightly jerk your foot and give a tiny bit of gas it starts to misfire and loose power it just won't go. So i pull over and then wait like 2seconds start it back up it runs fine..... about ten minutes and it happens again... I changed the fuel filter thinking that was it... but no. I was maybe thinking the Cat. might be clooged and cuasing back pressure.....

So I went through some of the threads.....and found out some things to check. I gutted the cat and test drove it , I did notice alot more power off the start but within a few feet it did the same thing...I tested it in park and was flooring really fast (not for long) 2 sec. at most! and it would backfire then chugg and putter....What can this be....I'm on my way to buy a fuel pressure test to see if its the pump? maybe ?
