Arizona’s Five New National Monuments Website
The Sierra Club Southwest Office announces its new website, Arizona’s Five New National Monuments, at http://arizona.sierraclub.org/monuments. The site is dedicated to the understanding and protection of the new national monuments created by President Clinton: Agua Fria, Grand Canyon-Parashant, Ironwood Forest, Sonoran Desert, and Vermilion Cliffs. It features information on the flora and fauna, geology, archaeology, and trails within each of the new monuments. It also houses numerous photos of these spectacular areas, including stunning aerial photographs of Grand Canyon-Parashant and Vermilion Cliffs National Monuments by photographer Michael Collier. It is the only website that contains trail information for all of Arizona’s new monuments. Visitors can use the site to directly contact public officials and ask them to support the new monuments, which are currently threatened by the Bush administration. Si! te designer is Brandon J. Vogt (brandon.vogt@asu.edu).
Don't forget to visit the "take action" page to contact decison makers about protecting our new national monuments!
For questions on the website content, or on Arizona's new national monuments, contact Julie Sherman (julie.sherman@sierraclub.org). For questions on website design contact Brandon Vogt (brandon.vogt@asu.edu).
