So been looking at a friends xj with long arms and the long arm kits for TJ's and I have a question. There are a lot of companies that sell brackets you can weld up yourself to put together a coil set up. Thinking about getting an axle out of an XJ and put brackets on the frame of the YJ for the upper coil buckets and long arm brackets by the front of the crossmember/skidplate to long arm the front and then get a drop down track bar like the XJ's have. I have not done a bunch of mesureing yet but does anyone know if the coil brackets from the XJ axle will line up to the YJ frame if the coil buckets were put on the outside of the frame. Let me know if I am way out in left field here or what. Has anyone tried this????? Thanks

I think the YJ frame is too wide unless you put the springs under the frame like the pro comp coil kit. The TJ frame you can see bends around where the coils are

you can maybe use coilover shocks which take up less space and use the XJ or TJ axle for its 4 link setup

Thanks I was wondering about that. Don't want to end up without the flex/ride I am looking for. Wanted to get a long coil so it has a nice ride on the street as well. Might need to look into coilovers. Any other suggestions???
