I am doing the same thing to my 89. Also need a radiator, and either new gauges or adapters to make your old ones work. I am looking into the gas pedal also-ours appears to be cable, but I am not sure if it is long enough. They sell complete cable throttles that I may get. I am eliminating the 4WD, but most people here use adapters to the transfer case, all readliy available.
They may even have a kit for your Buick engine.

I know very little about vehicles. A guy at my cabin is going to help me swap my engine for a Chevy 350 small block V6. He told me to do some research on conversion kits and that he did a Google search and found a lot of stuff.
Is he talking about the serpentine conversions that I seem to be finding so many of?
What is the consensus on what to use?

350 is a V8 man. My guess is that is thats what he is referring to.

Most current GM small-block V8s (the LT and LS series) trace their lineage to the 1955 265 in³ V8 developed for the Corvette. Displacement and power eventually reached 327 in³ and 12 hp (in prototypes) before the Corvette switched to Chevrolet big-block power. But the small-block lived on, settling in at 350 in³ for decades of performance.

if you dont have any mechanical aptitude i would suggest not diving into an engine swap. they mess with your head enough for those of us who are around them all the time.

I'm not doing the swap, a friend of the family is. I am just looking for an answer to my original question of, "Is he talking about the serpentine conversions that I seem to be finding so many of?

Good luck with the 350 conversion. It just takes time and money. Done one in my old YJ. Not quite sure if I would do it again. But I have never seen a 350 V6.

nice quote.. now what?
NOVAK is also a good option for your conversion / adapters for a lot of different engine combination swaps.
