Luckily I have a set of 95 ZJ sawblade wheels that work just fine. The internal part of the stock steel wheels I have dont fit over the caliper. Well, they fit, but will scrape the hell out of the calipers!
Now I really need to sell my wheels! And my D35!!! Any takers? http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

Darrell, the stock yj wheels should fit. You may need to do some grinding on the calipers, but they should work..

i assure you that you do not want to grind the calipers to make stock 15x7 steel YJ wheels to fit.

What condition is your axle? What year and gear? Mine's almost toast.

Mine are 15x7 I believe, they are just a slightly different style. They have less openings and the openings are triangular. The other "styled steel wheels" have squaer openings and many more of them.
There is no way I am grinding a caliper to make the wheels fit.
My axle is an 89, 3.07 gears, open. As far as I know it is in good shape. No broken ring or pinion gear teeth, no metal in the fluid when I have changed it.
The brakes are almost new. I paid around $500 for new brakes at Brakes Plus in Littleton, CO when I was out there. New drums, cylinders, springs, shoes, everything. The lines should be replaced, they look a little rough.

Darrell,
I didnt mean to suggest that you grind your calipers to fit the wheels, I myself don't think its worth it, I was just stating to you, that if you really wanted to fit those wheels, you COULD grind the caliper.. sorry for the confusion..

I don't know why your wheels won't fit, but so you know, grinding calipers (usually with bigger calipers on bigger axles though) is common. Just don't go crazy.
I don't know if I'd do it in your situation, I'd have to see how much additional clearance you need.
And Darrell, how come you always find these strange types of things? http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/images/ubb/biggrin.gif
I recently found out that to swap a pair of "later" YJ (these were '92s) into an earlier YJ (87), that the front rotors and calipers will not exchange, the harness for the vacuum disco is different, and in the rear, the vent hole, nd center rubber brake hose are different.
They made just enough of a change to make the swap a PITA.
