I can NOT keep my 90 YJ running. NO IDLE!!!I have a carb, Carter BBC, and I can NOT adjust it. Do I get a re-manufactured one or what can I upgrade to?

He He He...Sorry to laugh, I have a '90 YJ as well and ALWAYS kept 2 Carter BBD's...on in the Jeep and one on the bench that I just rebuilt. Kept swapping like that for a long time. The BBD's are about the worst carb ever made. I finally switched to a holly 350cfm 2bbl and that helped tremendously but you also have to buy the off-road float kit which is spring activated.
A lot of people have switched to a Motorcraft 2100 and that seems to work as well. I still have my BBD's if you need them...I now have an SB400 with a 4bbl Carter High performance. I'll switch to TPI one of these days.

A rebuild kit is $15. The BBD is a pain to rebuild though. The M/C 2100 is what I have and it is so much fun to rebuild compare to the BBD.
The 2100 carb swap is pretty easy and I definitely noticed a performance gain and more reliability.
It also helps to do a thorough tune up or even the TFI upgrade and Nutter Bypass. Those definitely helped me too!!
