What is the vent suppose to do. I finally put in my new (and working) heater controlls and the fan works w/ the defrost and heat, but not the vent. What is the vent for and is there any way to fix it?
Thanks

mine did this when i first got it, i found at that there were two problems, the cable that hooks up the back of the lever where you move from heat to vent was too loose and the linkage on the passenger side (the part that actually opens the flap allowing air to come in) had come un hooked, try checking those two things first

The fan is not suppose to be running in Vent mode.
The vent air flow is created only when the Jeep is moving and the air is forced thru the system from the cowl opening.
The vent flap and opening is BEFORE the fan so the running the fan would have no affect.
As posted above the vent cable sometimes kinks causing the vent flap to not open.
