Hey guys, I would like your opinion on which tire to go with because I've been trying to figure out which one to go with for about a week now. The tires are a 33x12.5x15 BF Goodrich A/T or a 33x12.5x15 Pro Comp X-terrain 3 Ply. Ive found good reviews on both but I'm just not sure which one to go with. So any advice would help. Thanks In Advance.

I've never used the Pro Comps before so really can't say. I ran the BFG AT's for years and generally thought pretty high of them until I replaced them with some Dick Cepek FCII's (a bit more aggressive AT tire)....like night and day. The DC's are quieter, have worn better, and I think give me better traction than the BFG AT's. With that in mind, if I were torn between the BFG and Pro Comp, I'd probably give the Pro Comp a go.
Cheers,

My Jeep had 31x10.50x15 BFG all terrains on it when I got it. They worked ok but did not last over 15,000 miles. I had a lot of tire plugs in them. I now have X terrain 33x12.50x15 on 8" rims. By the way this size x terrain is 2 ply on the side walls. The x terrains are noisier but not by much. I would prefer them a little noisier. I cut the side wall on a x terrain off road but the rock I hit would have cut any tire. It was driver error. With the x terrains aired down to 16 psi they ride beter than the BFG aired down. Both handle and balance about the same. I have just under 10k miles on the x terrains and they are probably 2/3s worn out. With all the mountains, stop and go driving and off road abuse no tire last long on any of my vehicles where I live. I will probably go with the x terrains again mainly because the 33" tires only measure about 30.5" tall and do not rub when flexed out with my current suspension setup. Also if they were any taller I would want gears lower than my 4:10. Both tire have about the same traction in desert conditions. I do not know what size tire you have now but 33" tires really hurt your braking power. Power will also suck unless you regear.

I have used both and am running the X's now and they are WAY better in everything except hard pack road snow. AT's are better for that.

I'm with Cubby on this, the Dick Cepek FCII is the most underused tire in the world! I've been using it since the early 80's - when it was the Armstrong Norseman Radial. Handling and ride are exceptional. The last set I "wore out" had over 70,000 miles and 30% tread left on them - '05 F150 33x13.5x18.
Most tires are throw aways, these will damned near outlast the truck!

i have ran the pro comp XT's in a 33x12.50 and i liked them. i currently have 36" IROKs and am considering the 37x13.50 Pro Comp XT when i buy new tires later this year.
